
Chief Researcher of the Belarusian State Academy of Arts and the National Institute of Education of the Republic of Belarus, Doctor of Philosophy, Professor
Born on May 27, 1939 in Leningrad (Russian Federation). He graduated from the Philological Faculty of the Belarusian State University (with a specialization in art – 1962). He worked as a methodologist for amateur theater and cinema of the Republican House of Folk Art, in the Komsomol (in 1965 he was elected deputy secretary of the Komsomol Committee of the Academy of Sciences of the BSSR), deputy director for cultural and mass work of the Minsk Automobile Plant. In 1967, he entered the postgraduate course of the Department of Aesthetics of the Faculty of Philosophy of Lomonosov Moscow State University, from which he graduated in 1970. In the Academic Council of Moscow State University, he defended his PhD thesis "On the problem of the formation of artistic assessment" (1972) and his doctoral thesis "Axiological foundations of national artistic culture" (1992). From 1970 to 1996 he worked at the Department of Philosophy of BPI (now BNTU) as a teacher, senior lecturer, associate professor, professor.
Since 1991 – at the National Institute of Education – Senior researcher, head of the laboratory, Head. by a branch (for 0.5 rates). From 1996 to 2002 – Head of the Department. Department of Cultural Studies of Education of the National Research Institute of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Belarus.
At the same time, since 1995, he was the editor-in-chief of the magazine "Asnovy mastatstva".
From 2002 to 2004, he was the editor-in-chief of the Mastatstva magazine of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus. Then he worked as the head of the Department of Humanities of the Belarusian Academy of Arts, professor at the Belarusian State University.
V.A. Saleev is one of the largest specialists in the field of philosophy, cultural studies and aesthetics, the author of more than 350 scientific and methodological works. He developed directions in the field of philosophy — "neoaxiology" (1991-2006) and aesthetics – "ethnoesthetics" (1992-1994), concepts – national culture (1992), art education of the Republic of Belarus (1993-1995) and the concept of "Artstress Pedagogy and artstress therapy" (1993-1996, practical platforms in Narovl (RB), Lubeck (FRG), Matsesta (RF)).
In 1988, V.A. Saleev created the first Belarusian culture club in the higher education system "Dzyannitsa", for more than 20 years he headed the sections on artistic culture and aesthetic education in the Znanie Society and the Pedagogical Society of the BSSR. He is the largest organizer of aesthetic education in the Republic of Belarus. Since the mid-70s, V.A. Saleev headed the section of aesthetic education of the Pedagogical Community of the BSSR, supervised the holding of four republican conferences on aesthetics and aesthetic education, gave several hundred lectures in almost all regional centers of Belarus on aesthetics, culture, and aesthetic education. Under the scientific supervision of Professor V.A. Saleev, the study "Artistic and aesthetic education in the Republic of Belarus: issues and prospects for the development of creative abilities in the 21st century" was carried out (national report at the II UNESCO World Conference, Seoul, 2010).
In 1990, he was elected first vice-president of the Belarusian Aesthetic Association, in 2013 he participated in the work of the XIX (jubilee)
V.A. Saleev is a well-known art critic in the Republic of Belarus and abroad; he published more than 500 articles in the field of theater, literature, architecture and cinema in republican and union publications (1959-1991), in 1999 he was awarded for publishing cultural and art criticism works the title of laureate of the Belarusian Union of Literary and Art Critics.
V.A. Saleev is a member of the International Academy of Technical Education, the Belarusian Academy of Architecture, the Moscow Academy of Humanitarian Studies, a corresponding member of the Petrovsky Academy of Sciences and Arts (St. Petersburg, Russia), a member of 4 creative unions.
Member of the Council for the Defense of Candidate's and Doctoral Dissertations (d.01.42.02) of the IIEF of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.
V.A. Saleev is one of the leading cultural figures known outside the borders of the Republic of Belarus. In 2000, he was awarded the honorary title of "Honored Cultural Worker of the Republic of Belarus".
